Lady Carolynn my sister friend, my prayer partner/warrior and encourager for 15 years. There have been many midnight prayers we prayed for our families, loved ones, friends, government and church leaders both local and national. We prayed for our nation and nations of the word. We would chat several times a week sharing life stories and encouraging one another with the Word of God and songs of praise. Carolynn lovingly cared for her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her “grandsughs” as she affectionately called them. She simply loved people. She loved the Lord and had no problem sharing her faith in God to whoever would listen. What an honor and joy to serve together in ministry, both inside and outside of the four walls of the church! I will miss our daily chats and faith-filled declarations. I pray that the God of Comfort would comfort her family and all those who knew her. Allow God to be the Lifter of your heads and hearts during this time of grief. May you encounter His never ending Love, His unspeakable Joy, His everlasting Peace and His Strength in the days, weeks, months and years to come!
Lady Carolynn, Blessed are you who preserved under many trials, having stood the test, you have received the crown of life that the LORD has promised to those who love him! ~ James 1:12. You have certainly fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith through it all. NOW, there is in store for you the CROWN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, which the LORD, the Righteous Judge, will award to you on that day - and not only to you, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. One day my sister, Carolyn, called me and said she was gonna come over to clean my carpet! I wanted to talk her out of it because that’s what I always would attempt to do. She did so much for everybody all the time. I thought, she doesn’t have to come over here, lug all that heavy equipment, let’s just wait until another day.
She came over with all her gear, including a whole vacuum. I asked her why she brought a vacuum cleaner, she knew I had one. She responded, “Yeah, you have a toy, that’s what you have!”
I laughed a good one! She went on and on raggin’ about my vacuum the whole time she was doing my carpet! It was like a comedy show. We had a good time.
When she was done, packed all up, she became serious suddenly. She told me that God had showed her whenever she feels depressed or down, go and be of service. She gently repeated, “Just go serve.” It was powerful. Then, she told me that her neighbor had died earlier that afternoon.
I went to High School with Carolyn and she had the BEST AFRO that I have ever seen. She was beautiful inside and out. She was a sharp dresser and was always on point with her looks and fashion. I use to see her at Heritage Christian Center where she was an usher. That beautiful smile with those pearl white teeth was always an eye catcher. God Bless you and RIP beautiful lady!
Carolyn Ann is my sister. Her Afro is infamous! She still had a beautiful full Afro all her life. Here is a picture of her and our Aunt Doris, in the middle. and I’m on the far left. I can’t tell you all the good stuff we used in our hair to groom them fros. But, Carolyn was the one who introduced me and our youngest sister, Helen, to the various AFRO PICS in the world of Afro grooming! She was always bringing home amazing new picks of all sizes, textures and color. She was the expert! The first time she showed us the CAKE CUTTER Afro pick— I promise you, it was like hearing angelic singing! She was like this. She was always a collector of the finest, unusual value and what really mattered most to embrace in life.
